ONE DAY AT A TIME

"It is not growing like a tree
In bulk, doth make man better be,
Or standing long an oak,
three hundred year,
To fall a log at last,
dry, bald, and sere.

A lily of a day
Is fairer far in May,
Although it fall and die that night...
In small porportions we just beauties see,
And in short measure life may perfect be."

Ben Jonson

HOME IMPROVEMENT

After a few years, and carrying a lot of choices back and forth from the nursery, I finally decided!

Brad and his friend, Francis, came and planted them for me.

Final results tomorrow.

TFT: "Blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalms 1: 1-3 KJV

I'M PUBLISHED!

I just wanted to share with you my reaction to the gift that Peggy and Michael brought me this past week. It's my complete blog for 2006 put together in the most beautiful book. And of course it contains a special section of the "Morning On The Hill" segment that I have been wanting to put in some sort of printed order for such a long time.

Can't wait for you to see it. What fun!!! Thank you again, Peggy and Mike.

NEED SOME HELP

Kathy came over yesterday and brought this little fellow for the garden.
He landed on the counter and seems to feel very much at home!
Will let him stay there "among the roses" for a day or two, and then outside he goes!
Here is my problem....what shall I name him?
"Hoppy" is already taken; so what do you think?
By the way, Kathy liked the new home improvements, and said she was quite certain that Tony and Lena would be very proud. That made me happy. Say, there's a good name...but I'm still open for suggestions. : )

A PRAYER

"Dear Lord, grant
me the grace of
wonder.
Surprise me, amaze
me, awe me in
every crevice of
your universe...
Each day enrapture
me with your
marvelous things
without number.
I do not ask to see
the reason for it all; I ask only to share the wonder of it all."

A STORY

You can't really tell from this picture, but this large, beautiful bloom is sitting atop a stem approximatly six inches high!

I planted it (and others) along the white picket fence as a backdrop for the little side garden; as they are supposed to grow to at least 2/3 feet tall and then bloom!

After such a struggle to break into the sunshine, this little fellow just couldn't wait! (see April 23 : ) ) .

The TFT today is not "Bloom where you're planted", (although that is really good advice); but rather it is, "JUST BLOOM!

IT'S HAPPENING AT THE Y!

Wanted to share
this fun
surprise that we
were greeted with
as we
arrived
yesterday for
our senior
exercise class.

It seems that AB
had dropped by
with a donation
(rumor has it
a million $'s) for the good work
being done there.

Don't know who enjoyed the experience more, the children or we seniors!
