LOOK WHAT'S ON IT'S WAY!

Slept right through the alarm, the bells, and the trucks!

I was up in the night. Opened the back door to the most delightful coolness.

Turned off the A/C, opened the windows and doors, flipped the switch on the attic fan and watched a movie!

Actually had to pull the cover up over me when I climbed back into bed around 4:30.

It's really good sleeping after the rain.

But ironclad undeniables that will keep you afloat.

How strong are yours?

How sturdy is your life when faced with...storms?" Max Lucado

REFLECTION

A wish for you:

"May each new day bring you sunshine and flowers.

May they be filled with joy and beauty; and just enough rain to make love grow."

MIDWEEK

Just snapped this one.

The tiny ladybug seemed to be enjoying the sunshine.

TFT: "Our task on earth is singular...to choose our eternal home. You can afford many wrong choices in life.

You can choose the wrong career and survive, the wrong city and survive, the wrong house and survive.

You can even choose the wrong mate and survive.

But there is one choice that must be made correctly, and that is your eternal destiny." Max Lucado

ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL

This little fellow (about 3/4 inch long) stayed on my front door the better part of yesterday morning.

He is certainly beautiful. However, I did not invite him in!

"All things bright and beautiful
all creatures great and small.

All things wise and wonderful
the Lord God made them all."

JENNIE AND ME

Here we are on the veranda of Sybill's
Saint James, a lovely restaurant in
St. James. Went down Friday in the
white convertible. (Just kidding!)

We had just finished a lovely lunch
topped off with raspberry swirl
cheescake.

Off to Rolla and a wonderful
production of Cole Porter's,
"Anything Goes" at the
Ozark Actors Theatre.

TFT: "Don't let anyone tell you you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Of course you can eat it...you just have to count it as two breads, a couple of dairies, and 150+ optional calories!" Julie Sutton

IT PASSES UNDERSTANDING

His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest." Philippians 4:7 TLB

IT'S GOOD FOR YOU

Many times in God's Word we are instructed, urged, and even commanded to "Give Thanks".

Knowing how we are put together, this is one
of God's commands for healthy living.

"The Creator of the soul is the Master Psychologist.

He knows that thanksgiving is not only appropriate but therapeutic.

It's hard to be both thankful and, at the same time, grumpy, cantankerous, critical, or ill-tempered." David Jeremiah

AS THE FLOWER NEEDS THE SUN

"Dear God, when it comes to helping those in need, help me to see more than myself.

I don't think there is anyone who needs God's grace and help more than I do.

I feel so forsaken and confused at times.

And I think that is exactly why God uses me, because I cannot claim any credit for what gets done.

On the contrary I need His help twenty-four hours a day." Mother Teresa

OMNIPRESENT

"God is the sunshine that warms us, the rain that melts the frost and waters the young plants.

The presence of God is a climate of strong and bracing love, always there." Joan Arnold

HAPPY MONDAY

Three stages of
bloom on one
stem.

TFT: I thought it would be fun to start the week with a laugh, or at least a grin ;)

A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the driver a question and tapped him on the shoulder.

The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb, and stopped just inches from a large plate glass window.

For a few moments everything was silent in the cab, and then the still-shaken driver said, "I'm sorry, but you scared the living daylights out of me."

The frightened passenger apoligized to the driver and said he didn't realize a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten him so much.

The driver replied, "No, no, I'm sorry, it's entirely my fault. Today is my first day driving a cab. You see, I've been driving a hearse for the last twenty-five years."

MORE MEMORIES

A rather vivid childhood memory of mine is of the two small bushes that framed our "side door" . The one we always used as we ran in and out in early June, having been "set free" to run and play all summer! This was most always accompanied by, "don't slam the screen door!"

There is a row of them blooming along the schoolyard fence across the street from me. I can almost hear Mother's voice as I walk past.

TFT: Today,I wish for each of you a pleasant summer memory. Anyone like to share?

MAKING FRIENDS

My "granddog," Tigger, stayed with me a few weeks ago while his family went on vacation.

He found the puppies on The Hill just as friendly as the people. What a wonderful place to live!

That's my neighbor, Jerry, holding Tigger's leash while I snapped the picture.

CONTENTMENT

"What seems to grow fairer to me as life goes by is the love and the grace and tenderness of it; not its wit and clevernesss and grandeur of knowledge--grand as knowledge is--but just the laughter of children and the friendship of friends, and a nice visit on the front porch, and the sight of flowers, and the sound of music." Whose to say?

"God's call to us is
simply to be people
who are content to
live close to Him and
to renew the kind of

experienced."

A GIFT

" 'Tis heaven alone
that is given away,
'Tis only God may
be had for the asking;
There is no price
set on the lavish
summer,
And June may be
had by the pooest
comer." Lowell

DON'T GIVE UP!

For weeks now, my internet connection has been going off and on. The AT&T techinician (s) (sometimes more than one at a time) have been here three times and really seem rather mystified as to what the problem is. So if the blog doesn't appear, please lnow that this is the reason, and hopefully everyone will just keep checking from time to time. Thanks. Blessed

ps: Managed to get this message and a "post" for today completed before the rather annoying blinking red light appears! : )
