A NEW BROOM

They say a new broom sweeps clean. But I don't think this one will be doing much "sweeping clean".
You see, I bought it at The Garden Gift Shop last week because I thought it was so beautiful...a work of art really. And that is what I intend to treat it as.

It's called a Sweep Dreams and the tag reads: "This is an original Sweep Dreams broom, designed and built for daily sweeping. Made in the mountainous jungles of Thailand, each piece is carefully woven to produce an elegant classic...

It is made from 100% renewable sorghum and bamboo, dyed with natural non-toxic colors, and assembled by workers under fair labor conditions and compensation. "

I hope this is true.

"Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns.
Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin." Deuteronomy 24:14-15

"...for the laborer is worthy of his wages." Jesus Luke 10:7

FALL IS IN THE AIR

And 5117 Wilson is getting all dressed up to welcome the season!

Will add a bit more later. I'll share with you then.

I forget from year to year how glorious mums are.

TFT: As September slips away, let us reflect on these thoughts of this month that carries with it so much change...Summer that seems determined not to let go; and fall's determined entry that will not be denied.

"The gentian's bluest fingers are curling in the sun;

In dusty pods the milkweek its hidden silk has spun.

By all these lovely tokens, September days are here,

With summer's best of weather, and autumn's best of cheer."

A NEW CAMERA

Believe it or not, my camera broke down while on vacation. Not to worry....lots of photographers along! When we got home, Michael helped me chose a new one.
Please note. It
is intelligent, and
stable!!!

I need all the
help I can get :)

A few "test"
shots.

Between my new smart, stable camera and God's marvelous handiwork, I think everything is OK!
What do you think?

TFT: "The transformation that takes place in our inner spirit is reflected on the outside.
As we take on more godly traits, people around us will become more aware of our "family resemblance" to the Lord.
We are called to surrender ourselves to the process, since Christlikeness is God's goal for our life. "

MAKING OUR WAY HOME

After a fun family evening together Thursday, we got a good night's rest and a very early start Friday morning. We had a few designated stops ahead.

Some more of
God's "wonders"

A lunch stop
and shopping
at Gallup, N.M.,

and then
a long rode
ahead.

"Barefoot

loved ones
and friends.

And then it was pretty much non-stop, arriving home around 11:30 Saturday night.

I want to take this moment to thank God for His constant protection and care all along the way.

Life is Good and I Am Blessed!

SERIOUS HIKING

While we three were gone for three days, the rest of the crew were having some great adventures of their own. (see Sarah's blog for August 21 and 22)
On Thursday, Brad and Curtis returned to Red Rock Country and set out for Cathedral Rock. Curt's in the blue...Brad in the white....glad I stayed home!

COLORADO RIVER: HERE WE COME!

A short drive from Horsehoe Bend to Page, Az., a quick bite of lunch, and we were off to our Colorado River smooth water float trip.
This15-mile float trip began with a motor coach ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel.
where our
motorized
pontoon raft
awaited at
at the foot
of the Glen
Canyon dam
which towers
583 feet above..

With the
dam in the
background

and our
self-described
"river-rat"
guide, Ricco,
at the controls,

we began our dowstream journey and what some have referred to as "one of the most dramatic stretches of river found in the western United States".
