AROUND TH E HOUSE VII

" When it comes to goodies and candy, chubby cheeked cherubs and red noses, go to the North Pole.
But when it comes to eternity, forgiveness, purpose and truth, go to the manger.
Kneel with the shepherds.
And worship the God who dared to do what man dared not deam." Max Lucado

A BRAND NEW PLAYGROUND

They just completed this wonderful playyard across the street.

Under the "grass" is a thick layer of soft material.

Before it was completed, I asked Sister if I could come and play when it was all done.

She said I could be the very first one! : )

The children are loving it, and I am loving hearing them having such fun!

CHILL ON THE HILL

That's what they called the 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk that was held last Saturday, December 6.

It was scheduled as part of the many exciting things included in "Christmas on The Hill" 2008.

Started right in front of the house.

Jodie and Milo were ready to go!

And they are off!

UNDER THE TREE

TFT: "Creator of heaven and earth...
He was born on earth under heaven.
Unspeakably wise,
He is wisely speechless.
Filling the world,
He lies in a manger...
He is both great in the nature of God,
and small in the form of a servant."
St. Augustine

ALL FINISHED

I really enjoy having the tree right off of my bedroom.
That's where I spend my evenings, reading or watching a movie.

THE ANSWER IS "YES"

(See the question that was posed on yesterday's comments).

As you can see, he's on the top of that ladder again!

In case you're wondering....they're putting together a floor lamp.
Well, sometimes it takes one to hold on while the other assembles the pieces.

They really do make a good team, don't they?

TFT: "Many hands make light work." (Don't know who said it first, but I grew up hearing Mom repeat it.)Posted by Picasa
ps: Actualy. the answer is "not always". The pictures from yesterday and today were taken the same evening. (but they do look kind of cute don't they! : ) )

WINTER COLOR III

Just in time for Christmas, this lovely Holly Tree has become completely covered with beautiful red berries.

This last Saturday, one of the sisters from the school was out cutting some of it's branches for the church's Advent wreath

This tree, as well as the one featured in yesterday's post, can be seen out my front window. I am blessed.

TFT: "Half the world is on the wrong scent in the pursuit of happiness. They think it consists in having and getting, and in being served by others. It consists in giving and in serving. "He that would be great among you," Christ said, "let him serve." Henry Drummond
