A NEW BROOM

They say a new broom sweeps clean. But I don't think this one will be doing much "sweeping clean".
You see, I bought it at The Garden Gift Shop last week because I thought it was so beautiful...a work of art really. And that is what I intend to treat it as.

It's called a Sweep Dreams and the tag reads: "This is an original Sweep Dreams broom, designed and built for daily sweeping. Made in the mountainous jungles of Thailand, each piece is carefully woven to produce an elegant classic...

It is made from 100% renewable sorghum and bamboo, dyed with natural non-toxic colors, and assembled by workers under fair labor conditions and compensation. "

I hope this is true.

"Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns.
Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin." Deuteronomy 24:14-15

"...for the laborer is worthy of his wages." Jesus Luke 10:7

I really like that passage from Deutr. How appropriate for your fair trade broom. Which is beautiful, the way.

Your broom acquisition gets a thumbs up from me. It looks great - nice colors, nice materials, and nice craftsmanship.

The verses you listed are great. Wonderful job of choosing versus from 2 different books, that tie directly to workers being compensated under fair labor conditions. It's important, and I think we could all do a better job as consumers in this area.
