And then he walks slowly back to the south side.
The children all know that they DO NOT STEP INTO THE STREET until he has directed them to do so!










And sometimes he even has to use his whistle to see that" little old ladies" get across safely as they head home wth what could be some fresh baked bread. (maybe he was a Boy Scout a long time ago. )



He is at his post every school day each morning and each afternoon all year long, no matter what the weather. You could set your clock by when he shows up!



I believe he is one of the best lessons these youngsters can learn in their 8 years of schooling at St. Ambrose. A real role model!


The Hill is such a wonderful place!

To be so dedicated to ANYTHING for 25 years is an accomplishment.
