CLINGMANS DOME
My first venture into the park was a roadtrip to Clingmans Dome, the highest point in the park.
The journey passes from lowland hardwood timber to high-altitude spruce-fir forests, and gives the visitor "a vertical trip that is ecologically equivalent to a journey from Georgia to Canada." (National Geographic)
The everchanging landscape is truly breathtaking.
