YOU JUST NEVER KNOW
"The blossom cannot tell what becomes of its fragrance as it drifts away, just as no person can tell what becomes of their influence as they continue through life." author unknown
The concept of influence falls into the same category as 'wonder' for me.
How does it happen?
Sometimes it seems to just be a desire and ability to mimic other's behaviors or traits.... but so many times it seems to be an undetectable spark that changes the way a person approaches life.
It may be by devine design that all people feel this way....but there is no question that my mother is the most influential person that I know.
I read a story a few years ago about a teacher/coach that was working with a young trouble maker. He said he worked with the young trouble maker trying to be a positive influence on him. The boy dropped out of school and got into trouble with the law. It was 15 years later when the coach crossed paths with the once trouble man and learned that he was a respected professional that worked with young toubled teens. The coach was so pleased when the young man thanked him for planting a seed in him 15 years earlier.
I feel strongly that the members of our family have had similar positive influence on others, as others have had on us!! The Lord works through us, even though we may not realize it all the time!!
One of the greatest blessings of my life was being born into and surrounded by people of such great integrity, wisdom, faith, courage and compassion. To God Be The Glory!
Your posted thought for the day is a really good one! You might never know who is watching, and being influenced by your actions and words. The thought is a good motivation to always be your best.
