A SPECIAL PLACE

Having experienced the rising sun at the north rim, we set out for our day's adventure. Our path took us east and north through the Navajo Nation on our way to Page, Glen Canyon Dam and the Colorado River.

A short side trip took us to this really special place.

One of the websites had this to say about it.

"Horse Shoe Bend is another of Mother Nature's little tricks in a whole world of sandstone and slick rock tricks that result in some of the strangest, and neatest formations in the west.

This is Glen Canyon and the Colorado river downstream from Glen Canyon Dam, which holds back Lake Powell. It is within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and it is certainly worth taking the time and effort to see. And don't forget the camera!

The trail has some steep ups and downs and some deep sand. However, even those in less than prime physical condition can make it if they take their time."

TFT: "Rather than shocking the globe with an occasional demonstration of diety, God has opted to display His power daily. Proverbially. Pounding waves. Prism-cast colors. Births, death, life. We are surrounded by miracles. God is throwing testimonies at us like fireworks, each one exploding, "God is! God is!" Max Lucado
"Since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen." Romans 1:20Posted by Picasa
Tomorrow: The Colorado River up close and personal!
