PLANTING TIME
Have decided on this year's color scheme.
Yellows, oranges, ivory, and white with a touch of lavender/purple.
Also will be adding shades of peach when the zinnias arrive at the flower shop. And waiting for the lantana. It comes in a mixture of these colors and is one of my favorite things to grow.

WELCOME BACK
Every year since I have lived here, I have had one pair of Cardinals return each spring and build a nest nearby, thus visiting the bird feeder daily.
They add much richness to my life and I am grateful for their return this year.

HOLY WEEK III
The Last Supper and Gethsemene
"It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to his father.
The evening meal was being served....Jesus, knowing that he had come from God and was returning to God; got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him."
"I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you..(serve one another). Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." John 13: 1-5, 15-17
"Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane.....
he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, 'My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.
Yet not as I will, but as you will.' " Matthew 26: 36 and 39
"...a crowd armed with swords and clubs came...
The men seized Jesus and arrested him." Mark 14: 43 and 46

HOLY WEEK
Jesus spent the last week of his life in Jerusalem, preaching and teaching.
This week we will visit some of these scriptures.
"One of the Pharisees asked Jesus, 'Of all the commandments, which is the greatest?'
Jesus answered, 'The most important one is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
The second is this, 'Love your neighbor as yourself' There is no commandment greater than these."
Mark 12: 29-31

UPDATE
Those of you who have been following my blog know that I have been giving progress reports on the tulips I planted in front of the house last fall.
You will recall that the package indicated "a pastel mix of pinks, whites and lavender".
Well, here they are! (Actually I like these better than the ones on the label.)
