MOON FLOWER

It looks almost like the Datura.
Same family I think.
Blooms at night and has a wonderfully sweet fragrance

TFT: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust detroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Jesus.
Matthew 6:19-21

Treasures in heaven are laid up only as treasures on earth are laid down.

TIME OUT

Taking the week off.
Having fun spending time with my granddaughter, Rose, while her Mom and Curt are exploring the Grand Canyon (as in hiking to the bottom of it)
Also helping out with the puppy, Tigger. What a sweet doggie he is.

Take care, God bless, and check back next week.

CAME FROM WHERE?

"God as creator.
Pensive.
Excited.
Inventive.
An artist, brush on pallet, seeking the perfect shade.
A composer, fingers on keyboard , listening for the exact chord.
A poet, pen poised on paper, awaiting the precise word.
The Creator, the master weaver, threading together the soul.
Each one different.
No two alike.
None identical." Max Lucado

REJUVENATED

The warm days and cool nights have given new life to much of the garden.
This rose is loving it.

TFT:"Over and over again God wants us to get the message: He has a peculiar passion for the forgotten.
What society puts out, God puts in. What the world writes off, God picks up.
" Anonymous

Why do we as a society worship at the feet of "the famous"?

CELEBRITY STATUS

"Value is now measured by two criteria--appearance and performance.
Pretty tough system, isn't it?
Where does that leave the uneducated, or the less than beautiful?
Where does that place the aged or the handicapped?
What hope does that offer the unborn child?
Not much.
Not much at all.
We become nameless numbers on mislaid lists.
Now please understand, this is man's value system.
It is not God's" Max Lucado

DATURA

About six weeks ago, on one of our morning walks, Jerry and I came upon as alley full of these plants.

We returned the next day with a trowel, and inquired of one of the home owners if we could dig up a few of the tiny plants growing there.

He said, "Take as many as you want."

I brought one home that was about 6 inches tall and had 2 leaves on it.

It seemed to like it's new home in my garden....and I certainly do like it!

NEWEST NEIGHBOR

This is Shelby and her brand new puppy.
She's thinking about calling him "Boss".
They live across the alley.

A request: Shelby's mom has been very, very ill for months now.
Near death for weeks.

She is slowly recovering, but has a long way to go.

Shelby wanted her mom to see a pictureo of her new puppy.

Please say a prayer for her mom, this family, and for this brave little girl.

Thanks.

IT'S A SUNFLOWER!

It is so fuzzy you just have to touch it.

TFT: "Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my mind and my heart." Psalm 26:2

My prayer is that the Lord, thru the power of the Holy Spirit, will help me to avoid the trap of self-deception as I attempt the self-examination of my heart, my mind, my motives and my actions. Self-deception is perhaps one of the most dangerous things we have to face in our daily lives.

JUST RIGHT

It was really tempting to pick one....but we didn't.

I hope they don't go to waste.

LUIGII

This is Luigi.
One morning on our walk, we were up on Southwest Ave. and I stopped in front of this little barber shop.
I was commenting to Jerry that I bet it had been there a long time.
Just then, the owner came up the sidewalk with keys in hand and I said to him, "We were just wondering how long this shop had been in business."
"Forty-six years"
"Want to come in?"
We went in and I asked if I could take a picture.
"Sure," and he grabbed a comb and ran it through his hair.
As I began to focus the camera, he said, "No, I want him (Jerry) to take a picture of you and me!"
We chatted a bit, and as we left he said, "You've made my day."

Seems that Luigi is a "singing barber".

You meet the nicest people on The Hill.

IS IT ALIVE?

We are fascinated by this BIG tree.

It looks dead, but as you approach it, it looks like it could take a step toward you!

And it is always watching.....

ALLEY GAREN

The wild morning glories are in full bloom.

Aren't they beautiful?

UNUSUAL LANDSCAPING

On our morning walk, we discovered this house's interesting lawn decor.

Surely is good for a smile, isn't it?
