"Now the Lord God planted a garden in the east, in Eden." Genesis 2:8
For a little more than 3 1/2 years I have been posting and you have been "clicking on". Often responding with comments that have been encouraging, heartfelt, funny, and wise just to conjure up a few adjectives.
Thanks for each and every one.
They have meant a lot to me.
But I think perhaps it is time to close this blog. At least for now.
I cannot do this without thanking the One who supplied the abundance of beauty posted here season after season....both in the unending glory of His creation found in nature, the faces of friends and loved ones, and the eternal Words of Truth gleaned from the pages of Scripture and the pens of those who down through the years understood the wisdom and guidance for abundant living found there.
Again, thanks for "tuning in", and with the recommendation to you to check out :http://www.spurgeon.org/fcb/fcb.cgi. (I've put it on my favorites)
I remain as always, Blessed
"On every question of construction of the Constitution, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." Thomas Jefferson

"It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment upon our liberties.
We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of citizens and one of the the noblest characteristics of the late Revolution."

Worked outside again yesterday....could not believe how aboslutely glorious the day was. And we are promised more of the same for the next few days.

When we were "winterizing" the garden, I cut this plant to the ground.
Well, as you can see, it wasn't ready to be "winterized"!
Isn't it pretty?
Going to be posting a few thoughts from our Founders.

Well, it was in c. 1950 anyway....That's the year Mom got her brand new shiney "Salad Master"
Mother really liked slaw, and she made the best around; so when this product came on the market, she invested . It could cut up cabbage faster than one could imagine.
Last week when I was preparing a simple supper for a few friends, I decided to "dig out" said salad wizard that had been packed away for a very long time. It worked great, and in just a few minutes I had a bowl of shredded cabbage and carrots ready for Mom's homade dressing.
Mom had even
kept the
instruction book.
It was a fun trip down memory lane for me.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the old fashioned slaw too.
Brad and Brandy came up this weekend, and we worked and worked to get the garden "winterized"
Tools of
the trade...
A few
finishing
touches.
It feels so good to have things all ready for winter.
Thanks Brad and Brandy.
Will probably plant a few bulbs, and then the job will be complete.

I really enjoy the shadows that appear on my walls at various times of the day during the changing seasons.
"How the love of God melts down the unlovely heart in man, and begets in him the new creature, who is patient, and humble, and gentle, and unselfish.
And there is no other way to get it.
There is no mystery about it.
We love others because He first loved us."
Henry Drummond
Proverbs 4: 20-27
"My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;
for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body.
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.
Make level paths for your feet, and take only ways that are firm.
Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.
